The FATM maintains worldwide relations. In this way, the competences of the universities are used for the development and quality assurance in the field of research.

Coventry University in Coventry, UK
Since the beginning of 2013, the FATM cooperates with Coventry University in the UK. The university was founded in 1843 as Coventry College of Design and received its current name in 1992.

Marmara University Istanbul
The public University in Istanbul is the second largest university in Turkey and was founded in 1982. 62,000 students are enrolled there and the lectures are offered in four languages ​​(Turkish, English, German, French).

LIM College New York, USA
Founded in 1939 by Maxwell F. Marcuse as the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, the LIM College is an unique combination of science and practice. The FATM staff is closely connected with the College and they work together within the framework of specialist lectures. The cooperation is maintained by Prof. Nicole Kirpalani.

Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences
The Research Centre for Textile Industry is cooperating with the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Niederrhein University since 2005. After the establishment of the Master Program for Management and Trade and the appointing of Prof. Dr. Gerrit Heinemann in 2006, a formal cooperation agreement between the Institute for Distribution and Trade of the Westphalian-wilhelms university Muenster and the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Niederrhein University came up. The partnership was further formalized in 2007. Prof. Dr. Gerrit Heinemann was elected to the managing board.
